When to useAdd this to articles that need help from other editors because they sound like Advertising|advertisement]]s. For example, they may tell users to buy the company's product, provide price lists, give links to online sellers, or use unencyclopedic or meaningless buzzword]]s. The advert tag is for articles that are directly trying to sell a product to our readers. Don't add this tag simply because the material in the article shows a company or a product in an overall positive light or because it provides an encyclopedic summary of a product's features. How to use
Add a date parameter like this: tlx|Advert|date=November 2024}}. A bot will do this for you later, if you didn't. This template adds articles to :Category:Articles with a promotional tone]] See also

It is used to build article message box templates such as tl|underlinked. It offers several different colours, uses default images if no image parameter is given, and has some other features. Common parametersThe box on the right shows the most common parameters that are accepted by tl|ambox. The purpose of each is described below.
nameThe name parameter specifies the name of the template, without the Template namespace prefix. For example tl|underlinked specifies para|name|Underlinked. This parameter should be updated if the template is ever moved. The purpose of this parameter is twofold:
substThe subst parameter allows the meta-template to detect whether the template has been incorrectly substituted, and give an appropriate warning. It will also add such pages to :Category:Pages with incorrectly substituted templates. Just copy the code exactly as it appears in the box. smallThe small parameter should be passed through the template, as this will allow editors to use the small format by specifying
Otherwise the standard format will be produced:
Other variations:
typeThe type parameter defines the colour of the left bar, and the image that is used by default. The type is chosen not on aesthetics but is based on the type of issue that the template describes. The seven available types and their default images are shown below. {{Ambox |

If no type parameter is given the template defaults to imageYou can choose a specific image to use for the template by using the image parameter. Images are specified using the standard syntax for inserting files in Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images#How to place an image.) Widths of 40-50px are typical. For example:
{{POV|date=April 2013
{{underlinked|date=April 2013 Please note:
sectMany article message templates begin with the text This article ... and it is often desirable that this wording change to This section ... if the template is used on a section instead. Other possibilities include This list ... and This biographical article ... To facilitate this functionality, pass If using this feature, be sure to remove the first two words ("This article") from the template's text, otherwise it will be duplicated. issue and fixThe issue parameter is used to describe the issue with the article. Try to keep it short and to-the-point (approximately 10-20 words) and be sure to include a link to a relevant policy or guideline. The fix parameter contains some text which describes what should be done to improve the article. It may be longer than the text in issue, but should not usually be more than two sentences. When the template is in its compact form (when placed inside {{multiple issues}} ) or small form (when using defines

This will be displayed after the message in a smaller font. Passing this parameter also enables :Category:Wikipedia maintenance categories sorted by month|monthly cleanup categorisation when the cat parameter is also defined. catThis parameter defines a monthly cleanup category. Other parametersThe box on the right shows all possible parameters for this template. However, it is not recommended to copy this, because it will never be required to use all parameters simultaneously.
imagerightAn image on the right side of the message box may be specified using this parameter. The syntax is the same as for the image parameter, except that the default is no image. smallimage and smallimagerightImages for the small format box may be specified using these parameters. They will have no effect unless classA custom Cascading Style Sheets|CSS class to apply to the box. style and textstyleOptional CSS values may be defined, without quotation marks
text and smalltextInstead of specifying the issue and the fix it is possible to use the text parameter instead. Customised text for the small format can be defined using smalltext. Additional categorisation parameters

– For category message boxes.
– For file (image) page message boxes.
– For header and footer message boxes.
– Has namespace detection, for message boxes that are used on several types of pages and thus need to change style depending on what page they are used on.
– For other pages message boxes.
– For talk page message boxes. Closely related meta-templates:
– For article stub message boxes.
– For disambiguation and set index message boxes.

This template is used on 33,000+ pages, and changes to it will be widely noticed. Please test any changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in a user subpage, and consider discussing changes at the talk page before implementing them.
The quick Template:Color can be used to add a span of text with any given text color, such as an RGB hex code, #C9E72A, or any of the web colors: red, blue, green, moccasin, or darkorchid, etc. The foreground text color is set, but to reset the background color, see: Template:Bg|bg. Usage
For example:
Wikitext generated: <span style="color:{{{1|}}}">{{{2|}}}</span> See: Web colors, for a list of colors. A misspelled color name will not be reported, but will cause the text to remain as black text. Performance considerationsThe template merely uses a span tag:
PurposeThis template gives an equation passed in as numbered parameter {{{1}}} a number {{{2}}}, which is displayed in the far right column. This also creates an anchor (#equation-{{{2}}}), which can be adjusted with the Usage{{Equation|1=e=m c^2\,|2=1}} {{Equation|1=a^2+b^2=c^2\,|2=2}} {{Equation|1=X(t)= V_0 * t + A*t^2\,|2=3}} results in: (1) (2) (3)
