1. Begin with an existing MODFLOW project.
The existing model can be created using the conceptual model or grid based approach.

2. Enable the SWI package.
Select MODFLOW \| Global Options. In the MODFLOW Global/Basic Package dialog, select the Packages button. In the MODFLOW Packages/Processes dialog, select the SWI2 – Seawater Intrusion option.

3. Define SWI package options.
Select the MODFLOW \| Optional Packages \| SWI2 – Seawater Instrusion… menu command. Define parameters in the SWI2 Package dialog. Includes defining the surfaces (Zeta).

4. Create 2D grid and import surface datasets.
Right-click on the 3D grid item in the Project Explorer and select Convert To \| 2D Grid. Right-click on the 2D grid item in the Project Explorer and select Import Dataset. Select the zeta dataset and use the Text Import Wizard.

5. Run MODFLOW.
Save the project. Run MODFLOW .
