Strahler Order Basins

The Strahler Order Basins tool is used to identify the catchment areas of each stream order link in a specified stream network. It performs a stream ordering operation followed by a watershed operation. It requires a streams raster created using the D8 Flow Directions tool and that has already been processed to eliminate depressions.

Input Parameters

  • Input raster D8 pointer file: – Select the raster file containing the D8 pointers/flow directions.
  • Input raster streams file: – Select the raster file containing the stream network.
  • D8 pointer uses the ESRI style scheme – Click on if the ESRI style scheme is used.

Output Parameters

  • Output raster file: – Enter the name of the newly created file.
