1. Change the simulation to use MODFLOW-NWT.
  1. Select MODFLOW | Global Options.
  2. In the MODFLOW Global/Basic Package dialog, select the NWT radio button.
2. Activate the UPW and NWT packages.
  1. In the MODFLOW Global/Basic Package dialog, select the Packages button.
  2. In the MODFLOW Packages/Processes dialog, select the UPW – Upstream Weighting option.
    • The NWT – Newton solver option will automatically be selected when the UPW package is selected.
3. Set NWT solver options.
  1. Select MODFLOW | NWT – Newton Solver menu command.
  2. Set options in the MODFLOW NWT Solver dialog.
4. Specify PHIRAMP.
  1. Select MODFLOW | Optional Packages | WEL – Wel menu command.
  2. In the MODFLOW Well Package dialog, specify PHIRAMP.
