Extract Submesh
The Extract Submesh tool is used to create a mesh that is a subset of another mesh . When using the tool, an existing 2D mesh is required along with a map coverage containing a polygon that defines the submesh domain.
A submesh is often used to make edits to a portion of a mesh that is too large to edit conveniently. If this is the case, when the edits are finished, the submesh can be merged with the original 2D mesh.
Input parameters
- Grid – Select the base 2D mesh in the project from which the submesh will be extracted.
- Subgrid boundary coverage – Select a coverage in the project that contains a polygon which defines the boundaries of the submesh domain.
Output parameters
- Grid name – Name of the 2D mesh that will be created.
