Expand1. Convert GIS data to feature objects.
Convert GIS data, such as contained in a shapefile, to feature objects on a map coverage. Select the Mapping | Shapes → Feature Objects command. Use the GIS to Feature Objects Wizard to create feature objects on a map coverage.

Expand2. Create feature arcs, nodes and vertices.

Expand3. Merge coverages if needed
