1. Start with a completed MODFLOW-USG Project.
  1. Open a completed MODFLOW-USG project created using either the UGrid approach or conceptual model approach.
2. Save a text copy of the simulation.
  1. Use the MODFLOW | Global Options command.
  2. Select the Save native text copy option in the MODFLOW Global/Basic Package dialog.
  3. Save Save Macro.svg the project.
3. Run MODFLOW.
Generate solution for the native text copy.
  1. Save Save Macro.svg the project.
  2. Run MODFLOW Run MODFLOW Macro.svg.
4. Create a mod-PATH3DU simulation.
  1. Right-click on the MODFLOW solution in the Project Epxlorer and select the New mod-PATH3DU command.
5. Define starting locations
1. Automatically create particle starting locations.
  1. Right-click on the mod-PATH3DU simulation and select the Create Particles at Wells menu command.
  2. Define particles in the Generate Particles at Wells dialog.
2. Manually create particle starting locations.
  1. Using the Select Cell Select UGrid Cell Tool.svg tool, right-click at the starting location cell and select the Create mod-PATH3DU Particles command.
  2. Define particles in the Generate Particles at Wells dialog.
6. Define mod-PATH3DU options.
  1. Right-click on the mod-PATH3DU simulation and select the Options command.
  2. Set simulation variables in the mod-PATH3DU Options dialog.
7. Save and run mod-PATH3DU.
  1. Save Save Macro.svg the project.
  2. Right-click on the mod-PATH3DU simulation and select the Run mod-PATH3DU command.
8. Visualize the solution.
1. Change display options.
1. Set display options.
  1. Open the Display Options Display Options Macro.svg dialog.
  2. Set the general display options.
