1. Import SSURGO file
  1. Use the File | Open... command to import GIS data files such as Shapefiles, MIF/MID files, Lidar files, or raster files.
  2. Alternatively, drag and drop the file into the Graphics Window in SMS.
2. Join SSURGO files
  1. Right-click on each downloaded shapefile and select Join NRCS Soil Data to open the Join NRCS Soil Data dialog.
  2. Change parameters if needed.
  3. Accept or change the default file name before selecting Save to close the dialog.
