Template:SMS Review-Edit Elevation Data Workflow

1. Review and set object projections.
Right-click on each object in the project explorer and select the Project command. Set the projection using the Select Projection dialog.

2. Remove erroneous points.
Use the Select Feature Point or Node tool or Select Scatter Point tool to select erroneous points. Review and edit point data in the edit window. Delete erroneous points.

3. Add breaklines.

1. Create nodestrings/breaklines. Select the Create Breakline tool. Click along points of a common elevation, such as at a bank toe or levee crest, to connect these points in the surface. Use the Backspace key to back up if an erroneous selection is made. Double-click or press Enter key to complete the breakline. 2. Import breaklines. Breaklines can be imported as a scatter set using the File Import Wizard. 3. Force breaklines in a mesh. Use the Force Breaklines command in the Nodestrings menu. Set breakline options in the Nodestring Options dialog. 4. Force breaklines in a scatter set. Use the Force Breaklines command in the Breaklines menu. Set breakline options in the Scatter Breakline Options dialog.

4. Merge datasets.
Select datasets that need to be merged. Select the Scatter | Merge Sets command. Use the Merge Scatter Sets dialog.
