  1. Right-click on the Map Data folder and select the New Coverage command.
  2. Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, naming the coverage (optional), and clicking OK.
  3. Alternatively, a new coverage can be created by:
    1. Using the Duplicate command on an existing coverage with any feature object currently on that coverage.
    2. Right-click on the new coverage to change its name using the Rename command.
    3. Right-click on the new coverage to change its coverage type.
