Here are some common licensing error messages and how to resolve them.
Single-user hardware lock:
1."No lock found" but the lock is plugged in.
- This can be caused by several things:
1. Expired Maintenance License.
- Check Help | Register and see the Maintenance expires date. Check Help | About and the build date
- If the maintenance license expired before the software build date then that version cannot be enabled with that license
- Contact sales@aquaveo.com to receive a price quote to update the maintenance license.
- And/or request an older software version download from support@aquaveo.com.
1. Driver Issue
- Download the latest version of the single-user or network lock drivers from the Downloads page and install it.
- Uninstall and re-install the drivers
- Check that the sentinel driver processes are running. Open Control Panel | System and Security | Administrative Tools | Services and look for Sentinel Key Server, Sentinel Protection Server, and Sentinel Security Runtime. They should have started automatically when they installed, but if they didn't, right-click on each and select 'Start'.
2. Firewall or Anti-virus software interfering with port communication
- Temporarily disable the firewall and anti-virus software.
- If that works then re-enable them and ensure ports 6001 and 6002 are opened
- In the Scale Bar Properties dialog, enter text to be displayed and select the text font, color, background, border, and anchor positioning.
3. Check that the USB is correctly inserted and that the USB port works for other USB devices
4. If all the other items are ruled out the USB hardware lock itself could be faulty, though this is rare.
- Email support@aquaveo.com with details about your troubleshooting and the information found on the lock tag
