1. Import raster images.
Raster data is imported into the GIS module in SMS.
  1. Use the Open command to import raster data files such as DEMs, KMZ files, and gridded elevation formats.
  2. Files can also be imported with the "drag and drop" option.
2. Create Area Property map coverage.

  1. Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command.
  2. Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage.

3. Create feature point for centerline.
  1. Use the Create Feature Point Create Points Tool.svg tool to add a point in the middle of the channel on the upstram side of the raster.
4. Run the extract features tool.
  1. Use the Select Feature Node SMS Select Node Tool.svg tool to select the point in the channel, then right-click and select the Extract Feature command.
  2. In the Extract Feature dialog, enter the input values, run TOPAZ, and run the tool to create the centerline.
