The following steps demonstrate how to use the print Layout Editor in GMS:

1. Start the layout editor.
  1. Have data correctly displayed in the Graphics Window.
  2. Select the File | Layout... command.
2. Use the Layout Editor tools.
1. Insert a map.
  1. Using the Insert Map InsertMap.png tool, click and drag in the location of the map.
  2. Adjust map properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
2. Insert a scale bar.
  1. Using the Insert Scale Bar InsertScaleBarIcon.png tool, click and drag in the location of the scale bar.
  2. Adjust scale bar properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
3. Insert a north arrow.
  1. Using the Insert North Arrow InsertNorthArrowIcon.png tool, click and drag in the location of the north arrow.
  2. Adjust north arrow properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
4. Insert text.
  1. Using the Insert Text InsertTextIcon.png tool, click and drag in the location of the text.
  2. Adjust text properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
5. Insert rectangle.
  1. Using the Insert Rectangle InsertRectangleIcon.png tool, click and drag in the location of the rectangle.
  2. Adjust rectangle properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
6. Insert bitmap image.
  1. Using the Insert Bitmap InsertBitmapIcon.png tool, click and drag in the location of the image.
  2. Adjust image properties in the list on the right side of the editor.
3. Print or export the layout.
1. Print layout.
  1. Select the Layout | Print command.
  2. Select a printer, print range, and number of copies in the Print dialog.
2. Export layout.
  1. Select the Layout | Export command.
  2. Select a export location, file name, and file type in the Save As dialog.
