To create an element patch from an existing mesh, do the following:
- Select the nodes strings
- Select the Data | Mesh→Map command
- Choose the Nodestrings → Arcs option
- Click on Create New Coverage
- Choose Mesh Generator, click OK.
- Click OK to close the Mesh→Map dialog
- Build polygons in the new Mesh Generator coverage
- Set appropriate options on the polygons
- Generate a mesh from the coverage
- Select the original mesh and the new mesh in the Project Explorer
- Right-click on the selected meshes and choose the Merge 2D Meshes command.
