1. Create an 3D structure map coverage.

- Create a new coverage with the "3D Structure" type.
1. Create new coverage from scratch.

- Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command.
- Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage.

2. Create new coverage from an existing coverage.
|
- Use the Duplicate command on an existing coverage. This will copy any feature objects on the coverage.
- Use the Rename command to give the coverage a new name.
- Change the coverage type.

2. Create arcs representing the upstream and downstream side of the structure location.
|
- Select the Create Feature Arc tool and create an arc representing the side of the structure in the Graphics Window.

3. Define the structure profile.
|
- Right-click on the 3D structure coverage and select Edit Structure.
- In the Structure Properties dialog, complete the following:
- Define the structure type
- Define the top profile, upstream profile, and downstream profile
- Define the structure properties
- Define overtopping

4. Link the 3D structure to a simulation.
|
- To link 3D structures to a simulation, do one of the following.
- Right-click on the 3D structure and select the simulation name from the Link To submenu.
- In the Project Explorer, click and drag items under the simulation object.
