Template:TUFLOW 1D-2D Connection Workflow

1. Define 1D/2D connection boundary conditions.
Using the Select Feature Arc tool, select arcs in the boundary conditions coverage that will define the location for flow exchange. Select Feature Objects | Attributes. Assign the "1D Flow/2D Water level Connection (HX)" boundary condition type.

2. Create a TUFLOW 1D–2D Connections coverage.

Create a new coverage with the TUFLOW "1D–2D Connections" type. 1. Create new coverage from scratch. Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command. Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage. 2. Create new coverage from an existing coverage. Use the Duplicate command on an existing coverage. This will copy any feature objects on the coverage. Use the Rename command to give the coverage a new name. Change the coverage type.

3. Connect the 1D–2D connections coverage to a boundary conditions coverage.
Right-click on the 1D–2D connections coverage in the Project Explorer and select Properties. Select a boundary conditions coverage that has arcs which define the location for flow exchange.

4. Clean connection arcs.
Right-click on the 1D–2D connections coverage in the Project Explorer and select Clean Connections. Define Clean Options for connections. Use the map module tools to add or remove arcs as needed.
