The advanced simulation tools in SMS for SRH-2D are usually used to calibrate a model. To use SRH-2D advanced simulation tools, follow the steps below:
1. Create simulation scenarios.
- In the Project Explorer, right-click on the SRH-2D simulation and select Tools | Advanced Simulation.
- In the Advanced Simulation dialog, turn on the Use Parameters option.
- Set the Run Type to "Scenarios".
- Enter the Number of runs
- In the Available Parameters table, select parameters and enter values to use for each run.
2. Perform simulation calibration.
1. Create one or more calibration points.
1. Create a Monitor coverage.
- Create a new coverage with the SRH-2D "Monitor" type.
- Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command.
- Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage.
2. Create feature points in the coverage.
- Use the Create Feature Point tool to create points in the coverage. Typically at least two points are created: one in the channel near the upstream boundary, or the bridge opening, and the other in the channel near the downstream boundary.
3. Define the monitor point .
- Using the Select Feature Point tool, double-click on a monitoring point.
- In the SRH-2D Assign Point Observations, turn on Measure Values and enter applicable values.
2. Set calibration parameters.
- In the Project Explorer, right-click on the SRH-2D simulation and select Tools | Advanced Simulation.
- In the Advanced Simulation dialog, turn on the Use Parameters option.
- Set the Run Type to "Calibration".
- Enter the Number of calibration iterations
- In the Available Parameters table, select parameters and enter values to use for calibration.
