To use ZONEBUDGET with an existing MODFLOW simulation, use the following procedures:

1. Running ZONEBUDGET for a steady state MODFLOW simulation.
For a MODFLOW simulation with a steady state solution, do the following:
  1. Select the MODFLOW | Flow Budget menu command.
  2. Set options in the USGS ZONEBUDGET tab of the Flow Budget dialog.
  3. Select the Run ZONEBUDGET button.
2. Running ZONEBUDGET for a transient MODFLOW simulation.
For a MODFLOW simulation with a transient solution, do the following:
  1. Select the MODFLOW | Flow Budget menu command.
  2. Set options (including time options) in the USGS ZONEBUDGET tab of the Flow Budget dialog.
  3. Select the Run ZONEBUDGET button.
3. Assigning zone budget IDs.
1. Assign zone budget IDs to the model grid.
  1. Right-click on the "Zone Budget IDs" dataset in the MODFLOW solutions and select Properties....
  2. Select layers and assign IDs using the Zone Budget IDs editor array.
2. Assign zone budget IDs using the conceptual model.
1. Assign zone budget IDs to polygons.
  1. Select a coverage with the Zone Budget property.
  2. Using the Select Polygon GMS Select Polygon Tool.svg tool, double-click coverage polygons.
  3. Enter Zone Budget IDs in the Attributes Table dialog.
2. Map to MODFLOW.
  1. Select the conceptual model Conceptual Model Icon.svg.
  2. Select Feature Objects | Map → MODFLOW Map to MODFLOW Macro.svg.
  3. Select the appropriate options in the Map → Model dialog.
