SMS:GIS Data Workflow: Difference between revisions

To import GIS in to SMS, use the following steps:

1. SMS project setup.

1. Start SMS, or clear existing projects in SMS.
If SMS is already running, select File \| Delete All. A new project can also be started by using CTRL + N.

2. Set the display projection.
Select the Display \| Projection... command. Set the horizontal and vertical projection using the Display Projection dialog.

2. Import data.
Load shapefiles. Load additional data, such MIF/MID files. Load GIS Layers.

3. Add properties.
Join table data properties. Set projections. Define mapping properties.

4. Convert data.
Covert shapefiles to feature objects.
