To import and filter lidar data into SMS, do the following:
| 1. Import lidar data.
|
- Use the File | Open... command to import one or more lidar data files.
- Alternatively, drag and drop the file into the Graphics Window in SMS.

| 2. Filter lidar data.
|
- In the Project Explorer, right-click on the lidar file and select Display Options
- Use the Lidar Display Options dialog to filter data to be displayed.
|
| 3. Export lidar data.
|
- In the Project Explorer, right-click on the lidar file and select Export.
- Use the Lidar File dialog to save out the lidar data.
- Note: Any data that has been filtered from the display will not be included in the saved file.

| 4. Convert lidar data.
|
- In the Project Explorer, right-click on the lidar file and select Convert | 2D Scatter.
