To create spectral sites in a WAM project using STWAVE, complete the following:
1. Define wave model domain.
1. Create a new STWAVE coverage.
- Create a new coverage with the "STWAVE" type.
1. Create new coverage from scratch.
- Select Map Data in the Project Explorer and use the New Coverage right-click command.
- Use the New Coverage dialog to create a new coverage by selecting the desired coverage type, and naming the coverage.
2. Create new coverage from an existing coverage.
- Use the Duplicate command on an existing coverage. This will copy any feature objects on the coverage.
- Use the Rename command to give the coverage a new name.
- Change the coverage type.
2. Assign STWAVE input boundaries.
1. Create spectral points.
1. Create a Spectral coverage.

- Change the coverage type.
2. Create a feature point.
- Use the Create Feature Point tool to add a point where the spectral data is to be imported on the spectral coverage.
3. Assign spectral data to location.
- Double-click on a point in the spectral coverage using the Select Feature Point tool.
- In the Spectral Energy dialog, click the Import Spectra button.
- In the Import Spectra dialog, select the spectral data file to assign to the point.
