To build a feature stamp, use the following steps:
1. SMS project setup.

1. Start SMS, or clear existing projects in SMS.
|
- If SMS is already running, select File | Delete All.
- A new project can also be started by using CTRL + N.
|
|
2. Import data.
|
1. Gather and open image files.
|
Images are imported into the GIS module in SMS.
2. Import images from the web.
|
|
|
|
3. Create a feature stamp coverage.
|
- Right-click on the Map Data folder and select the New Coverage command.
- Use the New Coverage dialog to create a feature stamping coverage.
|
4. Create a centerline and feature objects.
|
- Create a centerline arc.
- Create other feature points and arcs as needed.
|
5. Assign attributes.
|
- Assign attributes to the centerline including:
- The elevation along the centerline.
- The cross sections along the centerline
|
6. Stamp the feature.
|
- Use the Convert → Stamp Features ... command.
|
7. Continue with project.
|
- After creating a feature stamp, continue the project using the desired model workflow.
