WMS:Display Options Workflows

To use Display Options in WMS, use the following steps:

1. Open Display Options by going to the Display menu at the top of the WMS window or by clicking on the Display Options macro.
Verify the CAD file type is readable by SMS before importing it. WMS can import DXF and DWG files. Use the File | Open... command to launch the Open dialog (or drag and drop) to import the CAD files. The data should load in layers into the Project Explorer.

2. Review and edit data.
Check data to see that it shows up in the Project Explorer and any feature objects are in the Graphics Window.

3. Convert CAD data.

1. Convert CAD to feature objects. Right-click on the CAD dataset in the Project Explorer and select Convert | CAD to Feature Objects. Use the options in the [WMS:Feature_Objects_Menu#Cleaning|Clean Options]] dialog. Select the map coverage type in the Properties dialog. 2. Convert CAD faces to TIN. Right-click on the CAD data folder in the Project Explorer and select Convert | CAD Points to TIN Points. Set options in the CAD → TIN dialog.

4. Export to CAD Data.
Project data can be converted to CAD data. Right-click on coverage or dataset in the Project Explorer and select Save As. Save file as a CAD data file (DWG or DXF).
