GSSHA can be used to simulate subsurface storm drains. To simulate subsurface storm drains, do the following:

1. Add storm drains to the model.
  1. Open Job Control... under the GSSHA menu.
  2. Turn on the Storm/tile drain option to specify this as a storm/tile drain simulation.
1. Create a storm drain arc.
  1. Create a "GSSHA Storm Drain" coverage.
  2. Create feature arcs placed where the pipe network will be.
  3. Keep in mind that WMS does not support closed loops in a GSSHA coverage.
  4. Select all the arcs and WMS:Feature_Objects_Menu#Redistributeredistribute the vertices.
  5. With all the arcs selected, open the attributes and define the arc properties.
  6. It may be useful to turn on the stream arrow option in Display Options.
  7. Select all feature nodes, open the attributes and set all the properties.
2. Assign pipe and node parameters.
  1. Assign all pipe and node parameters by opening the Properties dialog and clicking the button below Edit Pipes and Nodes.
  2. Select Initialize Pipes from Arc Geometry.
2. Run the model.
  1. Save and run the simulation.
  2. Visualize the results by viewing the hydrograph plots, viewing the data set as a text file, and changing the contour options.
