WMS:GSSHA Initial Overland Flow Model Workflow

To set up a GSSHA initial overland flow model in WMS, use the following steps:

Expand1. Delineate a watershed.
Build a single watershed basin. GSSHA models require having a single watershed boundary polygon.

Expand2. Generate a 2D grid.
Create a 2D grid in the Map Module.

Expand3. Set Job Control parameters.
Open Job Control... to define the GSSHA Job Control parameters.

Expand4. Set overland flow roughness coefficients.
Set up an index map that describes the spatial variation of the roughness. Edit the mapping table to assign specific values to the index map IDs.

Expand5. Define precipitation.
Set the intensity and duration of the precipitation in the GSSHA model.

Expand6. Save and run model.
Save the project before running the GSSHA simulation. Run the model.

Expand7. Visualize overland flow results.
Select the hydrograph to see the hydrograph plot. Select a summary file in the Project Explorer to view the data as a text file. Use contours in the display options to visualize the depth contours.
