WMS:TIN Data Workflow

To use TIN data in WMS, use the following steps:

Expand1. Import TIN files.
Use File | Open... to open files with TIN, DEM, or scatter data. Alternatively, drag and drop the file into the Graphics Window in WMS. Use the File Import Wizard to specify importing the data as a TIN.

Expand2. Create TIN.
Turn on Digitize Mode and enter elevation value. Switch to the Terrain Data Module . Use the Add Vertices tool to create vertices in the Graphics Window.

Expand3. Review and edit data.
Expand1. Triangulate TIN. Triangulate the TIN data by using the Triangles | Triangulate command Expand2. Use TIN transformations. Select the TIN | Vertices | Transform command. Use the Transform TIN dialog to edit the TIN. Expand3. Smooth pits. Select the TIN | Vertices | Smooth Pits command.

Expand4. Convert TIN data.

Expand1. TIN to DEM. Right-click on the TIN in the Project Explorer and select Convert | TIN→DEM. Select options in the Convert TIN to DEM dialog. Expand2. TIN to scatter points. Right-click on the TIN in the Project Explorer and select Convert | TIN→2D Scatter Points. Enter name in the New Scatter Point Set dialog. Expand3. TIN Boundary to feature polygon. Right-click on the TIN in the Project Explorer and select Convert | TIN Boundary→Feature. Expand4. TIN contours to feature objects. Right-click on the TIN in the Project Explorer and select Convert | TIN Contours→Feature.

Expand5. Merging TINs.
Right-click on a TIN in the Project Explorer and select Merge. Use the Merge TINs dialog to merge the TINs.

Expand6. Export TIN Data.
Right-click on the TIN in the Project Explorer and select Save As. Save file as a TIN file (*.tin).
